poem
“Busy”
The term we use casually.
Grammarly should flag me
and tell me to use different
vocabulary
because it’s a
commonly abused phrase.
We live in a generation when,
if you go missing your friends
might say you’re “busy.”
If you’re tired, you’re not only tired
you’re “Busy.”
You’d think you were out conquering
the world but No,
You’re only conquering your bed
or the toxic thoughts in your
your head,
Perhaps other men or women
Pathetic and “busy.”
Excuse me for being salty.
Just don’t lie to me by saying you’re “busy.”
It’s time for me to let go
and it’s my fault for letting it show
but I think that you should know
I’m never that “busy.”
Busy is used frequently to describe our everyday lives; however, it lacks substance and is practically empty. Have you ever asked someone how their day went, and they responded with “busy?” It turns a conversation starter into a closed-ended question. Busy is an Impersonal response and offers no information.
People even use being busy as the reason they cannot respond to text messages and return calls. News flash, we’re all busy. In the words of Mariah The Scientist, don’t be so conceited.
Many live behind the esteemed mask of being busy, but we all have active lives. We don’t have to accept “busy” as an excuse. Value people who make adequate time for you in their “busy” schedules.
Nobody is ever too busy, if they are interested, they will make time.
