Sunflowers are seasonal flowers that bloom in both spring and fall in Florida. The key to seeing flowers in full bloom is understanding when sunflowers grow and following a farm nearest you on a social media platform such as Instagram or Facebook. This spring season, my family had the opportunity to visit Berry Farms for their flower festival! I love an outdoor adventure that’s fun for the family. This post will discuss our experience.
Farm Attractions, Food, Refreshments
At the front, there is a store where you can purchase vegetables and honey. There are many food options, including barbeque and brisket, hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken waffles, and more. They make smoothies, acai bowls, and refreshing juices. In the middle, the farm has areas for family photos and children to play. At the back, the farm had an area to feed cows and a strawberry U-pick. The fields flower fields are also located in the back. Our overall experience was lovely.
Weather
The Berry Farms is located in Miami, Florida. During the spring season, the air is humid with a cool breeze. The temperature was 80 degrees, and the sky was overcast. Luckily, we visited during the evening (5 pm-7 pm), and the sun was not beaming down over the fields. The weather was perfect.
Visiting with a six-month-old
My daughter is six months old. Our baby was curious about the flowers and was reaching to grab them. We encouraged gentle touch. The stalks of the sunflowers have a rough texture. We allowed her to feel the flowers and wiped her hands afterward.
My daughter and I love outdoor walks, and this took our daily stroll to another level. Although the adventure lingered into her naptime, she was very calm. She is naturally very alert and wants to look at everything. The experience was peaceful.
This was a special moment for me and my family because it was our daughter’s first spring and our first time visiting a sunflower field. Walking between the rows of flowers is an immersive experience.
