Welcome to the Open Narrative! If you are in Miami/ Fort Lauderdale and are searching for a unique family outdoor adventure, Butterfly World is the perfect place. Butterfly World is located in Coconut Creek, Florida. From the moment you step into the garden, you are immersed in a world of butterflies!
Our Experience
The moment we walked into the garden; my dad was captivated by its beauty. Perfectly pruned shrubs and beautiful landscaping add to the serene ambiance of the garden. You can take stunning pictures throughout. There are caterpillar exhibits, macaws, tons of plant species, a rose garden, hundreds of butterflies, and a waterfall.
If you close your eyes, you can imagine yourself in the rainforest. Chirping birds and the sounds of running water add to the garden’s serenity.
On the path, butterflies rest on the leaves of plants and fly around chasing each other. This is the perfect time to pull your professional camera. The insects fly quickly, ideal for practicing your photography skills and capturing amazing photos.
Although the butterflies were beautiful, I began to realize how butterflies are insects nonetheless. Warning: If you or anyone in your family finds yourself uneasy around bugs, you may become overwhelmed by the number of butterflies flying around.
Food and Drinks
At the end of the trail, there is a cafe where you can purchase refreshments and food. No outside food or Drinks are allowed in Butterfly World. We did not purchase food from Butterfly World. We enjoyed local cuisine outside of the garden!

Visiting with a baby
Visiting with a Six-month-old, this is a perfect time to visit. My baby was mostly resting in her stroller, or my boyfriend or dad was carrying her. I left my Moby wrap at home. Luckily, she’s still 14 pounds, and it was not too hot. South Florida, during the spring, is still cool and sunny. Once picture time was over, it was nap time. She finds walking soothing. Our baby was not bothered by the insects and slept most of the time. While the baby was sleeping, we walked through the garden again.
