Throughout the month, numerous emotions arise, and we encounter many situations every week. I believe it’s important not to let negativity prevail. However, there’s a time to acknowledge what’s taking place. September taught me not to be so dramatic and not to think about the worst scenario. September’s thoughts and best wishes for October.
College Town
Hurricane Ian Severely affected My college town Fort Myers Florida. After viewing the photos from the aftermath, I felt a slight sadness. The pier on Fort Myers Beach was demolished. I loved to visit the shops along the beachfront before sunset. The bridge connecting Fort Myers to Sanibel’s small, charming Island was destroyed. Many of my friends have been without power for days. Hot in the swampy humidity of Fort Myers, Florida. The college I attended had a small food forest drowned by the flooding. Fort Myers was not a busy town, but the attractions that made the town charming were ruined.
Storm flowers
For all my friends and family who went through the storm,
I am thinking of you and wishing you well!

Burle Marx & The Plant Maze
I enjoy visiting Amelia’s Smarty plants (garden center). The walk areas are clean, and the plants are well maintained. It was organized by outdoor plants that required more light and indoor plants requiring indirect sunlight or very few hours of sun. The serene music gently playing throughout the shop adds to the ambiance.
I first began by browsing plant species that I researched easily losing track of time in the plant maze. After about thirty minutes, I asked a staff member for assistance. Once he began educating me further about other plant species. I was able to narrow down my selection and my newest plant Burle Marx came home with me. The entire experience was fresh, green, and captivating. I will return soon.
