This post will discuss What the photo booth is, the Idea behind the photo booth, the goals for this event, asking for permission to host, and lastly, obstacles and how we overcame them.
Ideas
Official planning began about two weeks before the Fourth of July. Father’s Day card sales came to a close. It was important to continue marketing The Open Narrative’s print shop. We wanted to test the Idea of a “photo booth.” Meaning the pictures would be taken on-site and printed. The idea was that the event would provide the exposure we need to continue growing. The next step was requesting permission to host the event and creating goals.
Asking for permission
We appreciate LA Fitness for allowing us to market in their gyms. Other businesses are often tabling at the gym. It would be an excellent opportunity to test how well a mobile print service would work.
Goals
Creating goals gives you direction and helps you identify what’s important.
Goal Number One: EXPOSURE. We want to add people to my contact list! Marketing online does not beat word-of-mouth exposure for a business. We want people to know about The Open Narrative’s print shop and begin printing their best memories through my Blogsite.
Goal Number Two: Make sure my printing method works and is efficient. I will discuss my fears later in this post, but to have a successful event, the way I ran things needed to be efficient.
Goal number Three: customer satisfaction. It’s our mission to ensure customers enjoy the product they receive. Satisfaction is what will keep my small business running.
Goal number Four: Sales. The end Goal is to make a valuable product/ service that makes money, but that comes AFTER ensuring our service is marketable, le and our methods are efficient.
Obstacles
Connectivity
One major obstacle is the gym’s poor Wi-Fi connection. Because wi-fi is needed to connect the printer to the phone/laptop. Wi-fi is also needed to share pictures from the camera to the phone. Finding a way to print with the disruption of Wi-Fi is essential.
Zmuipng 6-in-1 USB C hub to connect the camera’s SD card to my MAC and purchased a USB to connect to my printer and laptop. The pictures below are from Amazon’s website.
Running out of supplies
Obstacle two was the potential to run out of supplies before the event was completed. We had plenty of ink and print paper to ensure this did not occur.
