free speech and professionalism
TikTok is a platform with a broad spectrum of content. Many healthcare workers talk about their careers on the app. In fact, it’s common for people to talk about what they do and don’t like about their field of work. While staying up to date with trends is tempting, nurses complaining about their patients at work on the internet can be viewed as insensitive and unprofessional. That is expressed in the hospital’s released statement to the community.
Without a doubt, every nurse has their pet peeves. However, health is a sensitive topic, and patient matters should remain between nurses rather than becoming a part of a Tik Tok trend. Nurses who are insensitive about patient matters do not represent the values of nursing well.
Altruism is the belief in or practice of disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others.
